PathView solutions consist of PathView microAppliances that measure your network performance and PathView Server software that receives and analyzes this performance data.
- PathView microAppliance - This zero administration device, about the size of a cell phone, sends out precisely timed sequences of data to measure performance characteristics of your end-to-end network. Place one device at each location on the network from which you want to measure or test performance. PathView microAppliances can also be used as the target of tests, especially in remote sites when you may not have a suitable always-on device. A virtualAppliance that runs on a virtual machine in a datacenter or standalone PathView sequencer software may also be used in lieu of a PathView microAppliance as the source of tests.

- PathView Server - The PathView Server contains the application software and associated database that performs analysis of the data collected by the PathView microAppliance and presents it to you in an easy-to-use web-based interface. This software is hosted on elastic cloud computing resources by Apparent Networks for all PathView Cloud solutions or on your own compute resources for PathView Premise solutions.

PathView microAppliances are deployed at each point on the network from which you want to measure end-to-end network performance.
