Company names industry veterans to key executive positions
WELLESLEY HILLS, MA – March 31, 2008 – Apparent Networks, Inc. today announced the appointments of two industry veterans to executive positions at the firm, rounding out the company’s management team. Industry veterans Steve Mank and John DiBartolomeo have joined Apparent Networks as chief marketing officer and chief financial officer, respectively.
The addition of Mank and DiBartolomeo is the latest in a series of strategic moves designed to reinforce Apparent Network’s leadership in the real-time performance monitoring of networked applications. These moves began last summer with the announcements of the company’s Series B funding, and continued with the appointment in November of Jack Sweeney as CEO.
CMO Steve Mank brings more than 25 years of experience in executive management and strategic business development in the areas of networking and application systems and their associated management environments. CFO John DiBartolomeo joins Apparent Networks with over twenty five years of financial and operations experience with both privately held and publicly traded high technology companies.
“I’m very pleased to count John and Steve among our executive management team,” said Jack Sweeney, president and CEO of Apparent Networks. “Together they bring a wealth of experience in building dynamic, growth-oriented organizations that create value for customers, partners and shareholders alike. Their operational, financial and marketing expertise will undoubtedly help us to accelerate our next phase of growth by managing and capitalizing on the growing demand for our AppCritical solution.”
As chief marketing officer, Steve Mank will set Apparent Networks’ strategic marketing direction, and has responsibility for all aspects of marketing activities worldwide including product management, corporate marketing, product marketing, partner and channel marketing and marketing operations functions.
Mank has a proven track record of leading emerging growth companies to market-dominant positions. Prior to joining Apparent Networks, Mank was chief operating officer of Qovia, a provider of monitoring and management solutions for converged networks that was sold to Cisco. Before that, Mank served as chief marketing officer for Panacya, a start-up in the application performance management space; and senior vice president of product operations at Trinagy, where he drove revenue growth from $5 million to $20 million in 18 months, leading to the company’s acquisition by Hewlett-Packard. Mank’s earlier career experiences include senior technology and management positions at Motorola, Newbridge Networks, Xyplex Networks and Hayes Corporation.
As Apparent Networks’ chief financial officer, John DiBartolomeo will work with the senior management team to establish and guide the company’s business strategies. He also has management responsibility for all of the company’s financial activities, including corporate controller functions, financial planning and analysis, and general and administrative services.
Most recently, DiBartolomeo served as chief financial officer of Nellymoser, Inc., a privately held provider of mobile 2.0 services. Prior to Nellymoser, John was the chief financial officer of Softricity Corp., a leader of application virtualization and dynamic streaming technologies. John navigated Softricity from early stages through its rapid growth and successful acquisition by Microsoft Corporation. His track record of successes continues back to senior financial executive positions at Basis Technology Corp., Interlynx Technology Corp. and Intermec Technologies Corp., where DiBartolomeo earned a reputation for building profitable, growth-oriented operations and managing successful mergers and acquisitions.
