Pathview and AppCritical for MPLS Conversions

Reduce the Risks of MPLS Conversions

Capabilities Include:
  • Calculates latency, jitter, packet loss and other network performance characteristics

  • Precisely identifies location of problems in your own and third-party networks

  • Validates and reports upon SLA compliance

Overview

More and more organizations have converted their networks to multi-protocol label switching (MPLS) because of the benefits it brings.  These include lower costs, higher performance (important for applications such as VoIP and IP video) and better reliability.  However, such a large infrastructure change brings risks, especially during the migration stage from traditional technologies such as Frame Relay and ATM.  Application migration requires close monitoring of the network to ensure that users are not negatively impacted by the change.

PathView and AppCritical's unique network performance management capabilities reduce the risks of infrastructure changes such as an MPLS conversion.  With their end-to-end network view, the tools provide visibility into and through MPLS networks without requiring agents or probes in those networks.

With PathView and AppCritical, you can:

  • Continuously monitor network performance and application response time to ensure that your MPLS conversion goes smoothly and successfully
  • Troubleshoot performance problems up to 70% faster with hop-by-hop analyses, even through the cloud and other third-party networks
  • Validate and report on SLA compliance from your MPLS provider for improved performance and service

Jim Metzler on WAN and MPLS Troubleshooting

WAN and MPLS Performance Monitoring

In this video by industry analyst Jim Metzler, you'll hear about the challenges associated with troubleshooting problems across WANs including MPLS networks. You'll also see how PathView is helping users to find and fix problems more quickly than ever before.

PathView's reports show how your MPLS provider is performing against their SLA or key performance metrics.  Easy-to-read graphics make it easy to see how a service provider is performing whether they're operating in compliance (green) or violation (red) of the agreed-upon service levels.
